December
Presidents
Message:
I
will be really brief this month.(It is after all Christmas eve and
I'm sure you've got plenty of other things to do.)
Hope
you enjoyed the Christmas party as I did, the food was great, the
service outstanding and as always the camaraderie the best. (Thanks
Linda Lewis) Dirty Santa was on good behavior with not a lot of gift
stealing this year or maybe our attention was more on the game. (Many
thanks Tyler for going to get a TV, it may have only received one
channel but it was the right one)
Toms
tells me he has the new laptop up and running and is scheduling
practice sessions after the holidays, if interested in learning the
timing system please attend. We only need a couple of timers at an
event but it sure won't hurt to have backups with experience.
I
would like to apologize to our members that were to receive awards at
the Christmas party. I accept some of the responsibility (should have
ordered earlier) but it seems that although the awards were ready on
Fri. as promised someone at the store moved them
and
the sales department assumed I had picked them up so they didn't
notify me they were even ready. Again my apologies, I have them now
and you will receive them at Jan. meeting.
HAPPY
HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!! BE SAFE!!
Jim
Barnes
(P.S.
Mike and I are planning a party here. Probably a chili cook off and
casino party. Get out your favorite recipe and be prepared. More
later.)

Corvette
Trivia:
The
1959 Corvette basically used the 1958 body style, though the trunk
irons zooming up the trunk lid had disappeared. What new thing
was added to the interior?
-
Chronometer
-
Chrome
shift knob
-
Storage
bin under grab bar.
Storage
bin. During that period, Corvette was going in two directions:
luxury and performance. GM still hadnt decided what their primary
target market would be.

A
Note of Appreciation
I
would like to thank all members of CCO for honoring me with the
Member of the Year award. I think there are a lot of other members
deserving of this honor, as well. But this is what makes our Club so
special, great friends all working together for a common goal.
